More and more, cybercriminals are targeting small businesses with email scams. 

The fraudulent emails and usually created with the scammer posing as a legitimate business contact or staff member, requesting a change in bank account details for a business payment. 

The emails may come from hacked email account or websites with domain names similar to your business.

You can protect your reputation and your business by taking a few simple steps: 

• Verify payment details – ensure you confirm the identity of anyone who requests changes to their information. 
• Train your employees to identify suspicious requests
• Secure your email account by using multi-factor authentication, or at the very least, a strong and unique password that would be difficult to hack.

These fraudulent emails may come from hacked email accounts, or cybercriminals might register domain names that are similar to legitimate companies.
