The ATO has provided a comprehensive fact sheet around claiming motor vehicle expenses as a business owner. Registration, fuel, loan interest, and servicing are all among the costs you can claim. If your car is used for personal and business purposes, you must appropriately calculate the percentage of your expenses used for your business before making a claim. Keeping a logbook is one way of making the distinction between personal and business use easier, as well as recording all other expenses.
